From the depths to the darkness, who will succumb?, who will survive?!
Brief:
Set in the township of Minadys Island Chief of Police Cameron Dane (Christopher Kirby) is a former Los Angeles police officer now living on a small quaint island. After giving up the LAPD to move his family to Australia, Dane thought he was doing the best thing to save his marriage. But after finding out his wife was having an affair, Dane moved his family off the mainland to join the small population of Minadys Island and rejoined the police. After discovering a local maimed and dismembered by an unknown creature, he begins investigating a crime the island has never before encountered with the only clue being a strange shark like tooth. Dane contacts Mainland Marine Biologist Hayden Brooks (Lisa Campos) to assist in finding the creature involved. When Brooks and her associate Andrew Richards (Joel Richardson) arrive on the island, Brooks must relive an incident in her past and must face the reality that a creature her father, a former biologist, had claimed to have discovered fifteen years earlier, may in fact be what is killing these innocent people. As darkness falls the unknown creature has formed in masses and starts feasting on the island towns folk. Dane must do what he can to survive and help save the lives of his family and the people of Minadys Island.
Target Demographic:
15 – 40 Female and 15 – 45 Male
Due to the horror nature of the film some scenes may be too violent and/or graphic for children under the age of fifteen. With this in mind we will shoot the film aiming for an over 15 demographic and submit for a MA15+ classifications which depicts that;
MA15+ films are not suitable for people under 15 as the content is strong in impact. There are legal restrictions governing who can be admitted to MA15+ films.
Target Gross Profit:
$20 million plus
There is no film with a similar storyline for an accurate budget for gross profit comparison
however films that may be associated with Sirena are Jaws, Piranha and Octopus. However
they are all visibly diverse.
Jaws I on a $12million budget grossed $471 million and then filmed a sequel Jaws II with a $20million budget which then grossed $209million. Taking these figures, their attachments and the era into consideration we believe that Sirena on a $2.5 million budget has the potential to earn over $20million gross.
